[starfleet] In which Dean is in a completely unexpected situation.

For the record, Dean wanted it to be known that he was really bad at this.

Even when he was human, his social skills were mediocre at best, but now that he was an angel, they'd really gone down the tubes. Which was somewhat daunting when knowing that he had the potential of meeting a sixteen year-old kid who wasn't even in his own time period. He wasn't even sure how this had happened. All he knew was that genetically speaking, he was this kid's father, whether it was through accident, intention or stupidity, and he wanted to be there. In some way. Some how.

He didn't know how, but he had a feeling that there was something there.

Besides, he couldn't have dragged himself out of this even if he wanted to at this point. He'd already dug himself in deep enough that he was attached at this point, he hadn't even met the kid yet. The Irrational Protect Reflex had already kicked in, and that meant Dean was already too far gone to be fixed.

Now he just had to wait for the kid to come to him.

That was starting to be a little harder than he thought.

He nods once, accepting the explanation. He bites his lip for a minute. "Look. You gotta know I'm fucked up, right?"

"I can think of worse things. But. . .it's left it's mark in places." Which is huge progress, that he can even admit that.

He snorts. "I never forget anything anyway." He looks down at his hands for another minute and thrn back up at Dean. "I want to get to know you better. That's my point. I want to. But I can't stay here yet. Dirtside I mean. Most people feels safer here than in space, but. . .there's to much in my face down here. I can't deal with it yet."

Alec tried. He really did. But he shifted out from under Dean's hand at the last minute. "Sorry." It was quick almost blurted out dispite how quietly he said it. "Not yet. Sorry."

"Okay." He sighed. "Thanks."

He grinned. "Tons. But I can't think of it all now. Anything you want to ask me?"

"I don't think about telling people stuff. It's weird." He looks over to, watching the cadets in thier red unoforms move from class to class. "They want me to go to the Acadamy in a couple of years."

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2010-02-06 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know what I would go for though."

"Everything. Which ammounts to nothing." He shruggs a little. "I want to stay with the Enterprise. Their my family. My unit. I have no one else but you. I hardly even know the other X5s." And that limits him and he knows it.

It would be easier on another ship. Most of the Enterprise crew wont want to leave, so there's aren't a lot in the way of opening."

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2010-02-06 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, they would. But. . .I don't want to be pandered to, you know?"

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2010-02-06 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"I still haven't figured out why they decided to keep me in the first place."

"Probably because they like you. Kinda weird, I know, but I can see why."

She watched as Dean stiffened and turned to face her. "What do you want?"

"I need you to take care of something. I didn't want to interrupt, but it's a little time sensitive, and she is your responsibility." She slipped her hands in her pockets and made her way closer. "She also won't deal with me anymore. And my vessel doesn't appreciate getting punched in the face all the time."

Dean rolled his eyes, before turning back to Alec. "This shouldn't take long, if you don't mind?"
