[starfleet] In which Dean is in a completely unexpected situation.

For the record, Dean wanted it to be known that he was really bad at this.

Even when he was human, his social skills were mediocre at best, but now that he was an angel, they'd really gone down the tubes. Which was somewhat daunting when knowing that he had the potential of meeting a sixteen year-old kid who wasn't even in his own time period. He wasn't even sure how this had happened. All he knew was that genetically speaking, he was this kid's father, whether it was through accident, intention or stupidity, and he wanted to be there. In some way. Some how.

He didn't know how, but he had a feeling that there was something there.

Besides, he couldn't have dragged himself out of this even if he wanted to at this point. He'd already dug himself in deep enough that he was attached at this point, he hadn't even met the kid yet. The Irrational Protect Reflex had already kicked in, and that meant Dean was already too far gone to be fixed.

Now he just had to wait for the kid to come to him.

That was starting to be a little harder than he thought.

Alec stared at the comm for a long minute, and then thanked God that Bones and Jim never assumed he was to young to drink. They even when so far as to keep stuff around that was strong enough to work on him. As long as he didn't act stupid about it.

So he took a solid shot of what amounted to Romulan whiskey and waited for the burn to fade. "Fuck it." He flipped open the comm unit and buzzed the man that was supposedly his father.

Alec had been sitting on the edge of the roof with his feet dangling off when he heard more than saw Dean aapear out of nowhere. He twisted around and ended in a defensive crouch on the edge of the roof. "What the fuck" His eyes narrowed. The man hadn't transported in. Alec could smell that.

"Syria." He stands up right were he is and looks the man over. "Well, next time come indirectly. Use the stairs or something." Clearly his already shaky manners have been worn down by Jim and Bones. "This is weird. Ans how did you get here."

"That you're my dad. And that you'd answer my questions." It was challenging but not hostile.

"Lets start with why you aren't dead of old age? Because humans just don't have that sort of life span and I doubt what got me here is what got you here."

Alec bounces of the edging of the roof and moves closer. He had already caught Dean scent on the wind but take another deliberate and visable sniff. "My nose isn't broken dude." Though he will admit there is something odd about the man's scent.

One eyebrow climbed. "Gimmee something I'll believe, dude." Alec isn't ready to give ground yet. He's thinking about letting this man be part of his life, but there's a lot he's missed already, and a lot of that Alec would rather have missed himself.

The lack of light didn't phase Alec any. He did blink though. Clearly startled. He could smell the feathers. The other. He moved closer cautiously. He wanted to retain his personal bubble, but he also wanted to touch. As a result the forward motion was decidedly skitish.

He did want and nodded by way of thanks. He reached out one hand carefully, fingertips connecting with feather tips. He was startled when there was no actual surface for make contact with. But the light was body warm and he shivered, figurative fur puffing a bit. But. . .it wasn't a bad feeling. Just strange. "What are you?" The question was cautious.

"I haven't really. In Manticore they kept us away from religion. And Spock thinks I should catch up to this time in the more concrete things first. Because I need them to survive." He still ran his fingers over the feathers almost absently. Like he couldn't quite pull away becaise the warm feeling was settling into his bones.

he cocks his head and looks at Dean. "Dean, okay. I'm Alec."

"I'll find a copy." He pulls his hands back to himself. "Were you an angel when I was built and born?" He shoves his hands into his pockets. "Why didn't you find me when I was young?"

"1999. But I don't really know when in 1999. Bones might know."

He isn't sure what to say to that so he skips it for now. "How did you find me in the here and now."
