Dean's self-esteem is currently a HUGE negative elevation. His ego that everybody jokes him about? Hahahahah um. NOT THERE. So yeah, Sam's looking up to him is the only thing that stops him from collapsing in on himself. And Sam... does look up to him? Hell, he's turned into who Dean was three years ago! - and yet the words he said under the spell are still true. Which is a hard point to explain and even harder to explain to Dean. *sighs*

Which he emphatically doesn't want to do, obviously. (Which is partly why Dean would willingly give a limb or possibly agree to whatever the angels want of him, no matter how hard, if they'll clear Sam of that, kthx.)
